YAY works as web app in your browser. You don't have to install or download anything from the App Store.

You just link YAY to the homescreen of you smartphone or to your computer's desktop. Then you click on the YAY icon to open your personal YAY Online Journal.
Here's how:

Android

For optimal use, we recommend Chrome to all Android users.

Chrome

1. Open your browser and type your personal YAY address into the domain bar, e.g. https://paulina.yaymemories.com

2. Depending on your device, tap the three dots menu icon or use your browser's suggestion to install YAY.

3. Select "Add to home screen" from the menu

4. Give your shortcut a name (e.g. "Paulina's YAY")

5. Click "add".

iOS

1. Open your online diary in Safari, e.g. B. by typing in the address bar above https://paulina.yaymemories.com/

2. Click the square icon with the arrow pointing up at the bottom center.

3. Select "Add to Homescreen" in the drop-down menu

4. Now you can give your shortcut the name that should appear with the YAY logo on your home screen, e.g. B. your child's name (possible length about ten letters)

5. Save by clicking on "Done" at the bottom right.

Your link will now appear on your home screen and can be selected with one click just like any other of your apps. The whole thing is of course free of charge.

Advantage web app

A Web App combines features of a native app with a browser application.

The most significant advantages of a Web App::

1. Your application works on all your devices, instead of just from a mobile phone.

2. You don't need to synchronize your devices to edit your YAY, because your data is always available in real-time everywhere. This allows you to write a journal entry from your phone and add photos from someone else's phone, for example.

3. Your fellow readers don’t need to download anything, but can read along in your YAY via the password-protected link you sent them.
